iBPortal Engine

The iBPortal™ Engine is the core server based software of live building control system integration. The Engine is what powers all iBPortal applications and consolidates data with and across vertical markets. This tool enables rapid application deployement from individual buildings to the multi-building enterprise level.

Data Sources
The Data Source Manager within the core Engine software establishes integration and communication to control systems, building automation systems and other data feeds. The following communication protocols are supported:

• BACnet/IP
• OPC
• LON
• Modbus
• Web Services
• RSS
• JCI Metasys
• ALC WebCTRL
• oBIX
• Microsoft OLE DB

A virtual data source enables users to create virtual data points for uploading custom calculated data, theoretical data, modeled data or goals. This data can be used for comparative analysis in the Dashboards and other modules.

System Points
With the Data Source communication to the control system, the Systems Points Manager enables live building and device monitoring of data points (individual sensors and virtual points within the control system). The System Points Manager is the connection to all energy, electric, water and natural gas metering and sub-metering data. With an auto discovery of the data points that are monitored within the control system, users can easily add which points to make accessible within iBPortal.

Point Trends
The Point Trends Manager gives the user tremendous power and control to easily turn on trends and totalizations of points. With a simple, user-friendly interface, the power to take live building data and create historical hourly, daily, weekly, monthly or yearly trend data offers users an unprecedented new level of data interaction.

Export/Import
The Export/Import Manager offers users the flexibility to export trended or totalized data directly into Microsoft Excel. If users want to upload/import theoretical or modeled data into a virtual point, they can download an Excel template where they can input the data array and then import the data.

Group Management
The Group Manager is a simple tool for grouping similar users together. Access to data points can be given to a group so all users within the group have access to the data. Groups are also used for other iBPortal modules such as the Competition module to associate a group of users with a specific energy data point with energy competition between groups.

User Management
The User Manager allows administrators to grant access to specific data points and inherit access to data points of the group that the users belong to. Users can also request different access levels with administrator request management.
